“Douro e Estrela – In Tourism”
“Douro e Estrela – In Tourism” it’s a co-project, that comprises a broad intervention territory – NUT II Norte e Centro (North and Centre), having as main goal, to improve the competitiveness levels of the businesses, especially the micro and SME´s of the intervention territory, through the stimulation of corporate cooperation and the promotion of the territory´s image in the international markets, thus easing the penetration in the external market.
For such the promoters of this initiative propose an innovative and simple methodology, based on the unique and transversal characteristics of the territory, supported by innovative tools capable of levering differentiated sectors of activity with great growth potential. With the implementation of this project, the promoters hope to achieve strategic goals and specific operations.
Organize and structure tourist offer of the territory;
Development of effective strategies in cooperation, marketing and promotion;
Improve the image and notoriety of the territory abroad;
Boost the competitiveness of the economic fabric of the intervention territory;
Create jobs and increase the economic impact in the territory.
External promotion of the Centre Interior and Northern Regions of Portugal, based in the key activity sector – Tourism, complemented with differentiated unique products of the land (wine, cheese, traditional sweets, smoke meats and chorizos…);
Stimulate the business cooperation not only between the several tourist agents, but with other complementing sectors, capable of adding value to the product;
Equip the regional space with promotional mechanisms of the structured products;
Creation of a wine/culture/nature Tourism roadmap (Douro – Estrela);
Stimulate the entrepreneurship, through the promotion and diffusion of new business opportunities, this way contributing to the increase of offer and the fixation of population in the territory.
